Blackburn Rovers vs. Arsenal (Match Highlights and Analysis)


Arsenal arrived Ewood Park to play their third fixture of the 2010 – 2011 campaign. Arsenal started with Robin Van Persie, Andrei Ashavin and Theo Walcott  who proved to be the real threat for Blackburn defense. From the first half Arsenal proved to be the stronger side as their forwards kept sneaking into the Blackburn box over and over again. Andrei Arshavin warned the rovers before the fixture as Arsenal side couldn’t forget their last year’s defeat. However Arsenal wasn’t the only side who made their opponent uncomfortable at times, Blackburn also made Arsenal defense work.

Derbyshire joins Blues


Birmingham City have secured the services of striker Matt Derbyshire on loan for a year from Greek side Olympiakos. The 24-year-old frontman has signed up for the season with the possibility that the deal could be made permanent at the end of the 2010/11 campaign.
