Firms, football hooliganism and middle-aged flab a dying art? Think again!
Football hooliganism has no specific legal definition. The term was created by the media, the tabloid press in particular, in the mid-1960s. Since then, they have been extremely flexible and indeterminate in ascribing the “hooligan” label to different incidents. United put up a great show against competitive MLS All Stars. United sparked from the very first minute when Kiko Macheda found the net. A superb header on corner gave Macheda another chance as he headed it passed the goalkeeper. Gibson then slotted a free kick in to net. Cleverly individual brilliance and superb ball controlling skills added another to United’s scoresheet. Last but not the least, Chicharito (Javier Hernandez) made a clever run to beat offside trap and lobbed over the goal keeper to score United’s 5th which proved to be the dream debut for the Mexican sensation. All in all, the most impressive performance by United so far on their tour to US especially when the kids did it for them as most of the big names were missing.
