Firms, football hooliganism and middle-aged flab a dying art? Think again!

Football hooliganism has no specific legal definition. The term was created by the media, the tabloid press in particular, in the mid-1960s. Since then, they have been extremely flexible and indeterminate in ascribing the “hooligan” label to different incidents. The perpetuation of football hooliganism can be linked to the high level of drama, aggression and petit mal that overcomes players in the 90 minutes of rigid warfare on the football field.

Sergio Batista has a star less to worry about. Spanish defender Carles Puyol suffered a strain in his left calf, and will therefore miss out on playing a friendly against Argentina next Wednesday. The contracture in the calf of his left leg, grade two, happened during a training session of Spain and gravely concerned coach Vicente Del Bosque, who now must find a replacement on the defense.

On Tuesday 7 September, “The Fury” will face Argentina, who seemed to have solved their internal problems with the support of the players to “Checho” Batista in his post as coach.

FIFA has fined both Spain and Netherlands for poor discipline during the World Cup Final. The FIFA World Cup 2010 Final had many records but mostly were for misconduct, which included the record for most cards in a match in this year’s World Cup and the most cards in a World Cup Final, 14. FIFA has decided to take actions against the anti-footballing tactics of both Spain and Holland in the Final by fining each.

We all know about the amazing season that the Spanish club Barcelona had in 2008 and 2009. They won six trophies and that means that they took all the gold away from their opponents. They entered six competitions and were able to win all six of them, and that marked the end of a world record run. They won the Spanish League- La Liga, Copa Del Rey, UEFA Super Cup, UEFA Champion’s League, Super Copa de Espana and the Club World Cup.

Every rumour dries up after a certain period of time but one rumour that refuse to die is Torres’. Chelsea is in a much better condition than Liverpool. Chelsea is fighting for every trophy where as Liverpool are still looking to stabilize themselves from their horrible showing in the last season and will look to come back to their winning ways. Torres, who has shown his desire to win trophies will be looking to play for a more stable squad and that is Chelsea. But if he shows his loyalty to Liverpool fans and stays than he could soon be following the footsteps of Steven Gerrard.
