Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed Owen Hargreaves will be kept away for at least five weeks because of the hamstring injury he sustained against Wolverhampton on Saturday.
Appearing for the first time since September 2008, Hargreaves could not survive more than just 5 minutes indicating that he picked up a hamstring injury and was replaced by Bebe. The manager has stated that the midfielder would not be able to make it until five weeks.
Ferguson stated:
“We were at the stage where we knew Owen’s knee was okay,” Ferguson told Key 103. “His training performances for eight or nine days previously had been terrific. He had done really well, which is why we took the chance. But maybe the tension in the build-up for the lad was too much and he suffered because of it.”
The manager was sure of the fact that Hargreaves would not be able to play any part against Manchester City, but the injury of veteran Ryan Giggs was certainly a major set-back for him. Giggs who could be very vital against Manchester City also sustained a hamstring injury, confirming this the manager told that he’s certainly out of the derby.
However according to ESPN.com, Luis Nani is fit, as for City, Balotelli is suspended and Adebayor sustained a calf injury while Kalarov has recovered and has a chance to return for the derby.

Chelsea; despite making the current progress since recent years, are eager to make new recruitments in order to keep their hunger alive for the title.
With the players getting older, more injury prone and probably retiring in the coming years Chelsea are going to be in the market this winter to find some alternates for them. Among those new alternates is the name of Ricardo Kaka, who is probably considered to be the best alternative for Franck Lampard. The thing which made me think is how fast they are taking steps to maintain their position in the League, and yes of course they certainly are going to fight for the Champions League this and the coming terms.
Roman Abramovich is ready to spill some cash to bring in the Real Madrid star, for who Mourinho is going to give up considering the performance and the injury the midfielder has been dealing with. Chelsea could fall short in the quality attacking midfield, but the arrival of Ricardo would be a real boon.
The strategy which they implement in the market is really impressive and really show the urge to win, not just a season but the seasons ahead. The league has always been tough but not as tough as it has been in the recent years and Chelsea are certainly not going to give up on the place which they have Earned in these 2 or 3 years.
