Sacked Hammers coach Zeljko Petrovic blasts ‘crap’ Premier League

Former West Ham United assistant manager Zeljko Petrovic has launched a scathing attack on the Premier League, labelling it is ‘crap’ and saying ‘Bundesliga is better than it’.

Zeljko Petrovic was sacked by West Ham yesterday after the team’s poor start to their Premier League campaign. Now owners David Gold and David Sullivan have given current manager Avram Grant 3 games to save his job at Upton Park.

In an interview with British newspaper The Sun, Petrovic  cristicised the quality of players and people working in the Premier League. Petrovic said:

“Everybody has great words for the Premier League but it is a myth.”

“The Premier League is a crap league, it is nothing. In truth the level is shocking. Every team has just three good players. If you take those players out of the teams then there are only players left who would not be playing in the bottom team in Holland.”

“The Bundesliga is far better.”

West Ham’s other coaches who were brought in by Grant also have the 3 games (v Wigan, Sunderland and Man CIty) remaining to save their places. West Ham barely survived relegation last year with Gianfranco Zola being in-charge and it looks like they would be involved in another season-long relegation battle. West Ham’s dire postion is mainly because of their poor showing in front of goal, scoring just 11 goals. But West Ham’s problems aren’t limited to the pitch, Petrovic was sacked after players complained of his coaching and ‘arrogant’ training methods.

Hammers have appointed ex-Brentford boss Wally Downes as a defensive coach after conceding 25 goals in 14 League games. West Ham need to turn the corner quickly and start getting some positive results if they dont want to fall into the Championship and want to stay in the ‘CRAP’ Premier League.
