Inzaghi suffers career threatening injury

AC Milan striker Fillipo Inzaghi is likely to miss the rest of the season after suffering career threatening cruciate ligament and meniscus damage in his left knee.


The 37 year old suffered the injuries after coming on as a substitute in Milan’s 3-1 win over Palermo on Wednesday which sent the Rossoneri top of Serie A. A Milan statement said:
After a consultation the doctor has confirmed the need for surgery.”
The striker recently scored twice after coming on as a substitute against Real Madrid in the Champions League.He was really important to Milan’s hopes of winning their first Scudetto since 2004.A statement on Milan’s site read:
“It can’t end and it will not end. Pippo is in our hearts and we in his.”
