Forlan ends goal drought

Diego Forlan has finally ended his goal drought after scoring a brace in his side’s 3-0 win against Osasuna at the Vicente Calderon.

Forlan had not scored for the Rojiblancos’ in his previous 12 appearances but he scored twice last night and set up another for his team mate Sergio Aguero. Forlan’s poor form has forced the media to link him up with other clubs and even a report of a bust up between him and manager  Quique Sánchez Flores was all over the news a few days ago.But his return to form will quash all such news now. Diego Forlan started the season after a great performance in the World Cup for Uruguay for which he was awarded with the Golden Ball award. But he couldn’t carry his international form to his club form and have scored his first goal after mid-September. The Uruguyan is a twice European Golden Boot winner in 2004–05 and 2008-09.
The win takes Atletico Madrid to 5th in the League table on 17 points behind Espanyol who has a game in hand.
