Evra going to Spain???

According to a friend, Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is consedering his future and could leave the club and join former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid by the end of the season.

The Frenchman has started negotiations with United over signing an extension to his contract which ends in 2012, but has told some of his friends that he is still open to a move abroad. Evra, who joined United for £5.5 million from Monaco in 2006, is not happy over Man United’s investment in the squad. A friend of Evra has told that Evra is currently happy at United, but doesn’t see them improving much in the future. The Glazer family, owners of Manchester United, have said that they are set to invest in the summer – possibly around the region of £50-80 million, but Evra needs further assurances.

“Patrice originally wanted to leave in January but now he is happy to sign a new contract and leave at the end of the season,” Evra’s friend told. “He is concerned about where the club are heading and is attracted by the possibility of playing for Real, a club he really admires.”

Patrice was one of the few players who vented criticism at United star Wayne Rooney over his contract saga. Evra said “if one player doesn’t trust the others he should not play in the team,” but it now seems that the Frenchman could become the next United player in the spotlight. His friend further added:

“Evra was the most angry when Rooney said he was going to leave and criticised the quality of the squad but that doesn’t mean he swears blind loyalty to Manchester United. Like any player, he wants what is best for himself and his family and sees Real Madrid as the perfect move.”
