Drogba wary of Liverpool threat

Chelsea’s big match performer Didier Drogba is determined to end Liverpool’s resurgence of form and add to Hodgson’s miseries when the two clubs meet on Sunday.

Liverpool showed back to back poor performances since the start of their Premier League Campaign. In recent weeks they managed to clinch victories over Blackburn Rovers and Bolton Wanderers which gave the under pressure manager, Roy Hodgson a little breathing space.

Didier knows that its not the best of time to go to Anfield as Liverpool will go all out for victory to build up on their recent performances. If Liverpool  win this one it will be a major boost for the Merseyside and could prove to be a turning point for them. Drogba, returning to the team after viral fever, is up for the challenge and certainly not taking Liverpool lightly. Another big match performance from Drogba can seriously dent Liverpool’s mini revival.

“There is never a good time to go to Anfield because they are a very strong team,” said Drogba. “They will try to use this game to start their season, so we have to be ready. We are seeing a different Liverpool than the one from earlier in the season. They have won their last two matches and their confidence is getting higher. We have to be careful. It’s true that we shouldn’t fear any team but we’re going to have some difficult moments. Since I’ve been here, Chelsea v Liverpool has been special and it’s always a difficult game. We’re going there to win but it’s not going to be easy. The most difficult opponent is ourselves. We know if we lose points like we did last year we can be in trouble again. It’s down to us to keep winning and to keep the gap. It’s not easy. There are only a few teams who have done it before. When we lost against Manchester City, the reaction was good and that’s what we have to try to achieve.”
