Until last week, City fans were already celebrating Rooney signing and thousands of City+Rooney shirts were sold in no time. Some fans even tattooed themselves with City+Rooney Tattoos which made them look silly in the end. Newspapers and Media now say that after missing out on Manchester United hitman, Wayne Rooney, City are now going all out for Bosnian Forward Edin Dzeko.
One would fail to understand this but besides having quality forwards, City are still ready to pour all efforts to bring the Bosnian to the Eastlands. You got to ask City if they are really making investment in the squad or just showing off their Spending Power which would definitely result in total waste of talent. Having players like Tevez, Balotelli, Jo, Santa Cruz, Adebayor and several other attacking players the potential signing of Dzeko would be completely unjustified. There’s absolutely no point, where would they adjust Dzeko? There were Matches this season in which Mancini opted to play with only one striker and that was undoubtedly Carlos Tevez. Mancini never really tested forwards especially if you see that Santa Cruz was never given enough playing time. I still rate Santa Cruz as a quality forward, atleast far better than Adebayor who is probably the highest paid player at City.
City failed to materialize a deal in the summer when Wolfsburg quoted an asking price approaching £50m while the Eastlanders believed that the 24-year-old was worth closer to £30m and that the German club were being unreasonable in the negotiations because they thought – wrongly, as it turned out – that money would be no object to the men financing the richest club in English football.
