Blackburn Rovers vs. Arsenal (Match Highlights and Analysis)

Arsenal arrived Ewood Park to play their third fixture of the 2010 – 2011 campaign. Arsenal started with Robin Van Persie, Andrei Ashavin and Theo Walcott  who proved to be the real threat for Blackburn defense. From the first half Arsenal proved to be the stronger side as their forwards kept sneaking into the Blackburn box over and over again. Andrei Arshavin warned the rovers before the fixture as Arsenal side couldn’t forget their last year’s defeat. However Arsenal wasn’t the only side who made their opponent uncomfortable at times, Blackburn also made Arsenal defense work.

Theo Walcott scoring on a fine finish agains Blackburn RoversArsenal were the first to score when Andrei Arshavin passed the ball to Robin Van Persie who had to stretch himself before throwing an assist to Theo Walcott, the player who has scored 4 goals in three matches and has shown he’s got everything what it takes to be an England International. Blackburn kept threaten Arsenal defense but Almunia and company denied them many times. However they couldn’t hold on for much and Rovers managed to score through Mame Biram Diouf, before the half time when he was assisted by after a fine run from El-Hadji Diouf. The second half started with both sides level but this couldn’t stayed as it was for longer as Andrei Arshavin scored taking most of his sharp reflexes, just after the second half when a shot from Fabregas was denied by the keeper, however the courtesy goes to Bacary Sagna who made a good run to provide Fabregas with a shot low cross. Arsenal being 2 – 1 up kept pressing the Rovers defense and Walcott continuously kept on showing the glimpse of the flares he’s got. Anyway the match ended 2 – 1 as Arsenal were victorious and marched on to the first place for the time being.
