Balotelli flying to England for Manchester City Medical

It seems that the most elongated transfer saga of this summer is drawing to a close with Balotelli believed to be flying to England to undergo a medical at Manchester. Mario Balotelli’s move to Manchester City is closer than ever as the two clubs believed to have finally agreed terms upon a deal which will see Balotelli playing for Manchester City next season.

Balotelli

The player’s agent had already reported on Thursday that negotiations between the two clubs are going along fast and it was just a matter of time that the deal would be finalised and it seems the time has just arrived that we’ll see Balotelli in Manchester City shirt. The deal has been taking place just at the right time with Manchester City set to take on Tottenham Hotspurs in their opening game of the English Premier League Season tomorrow.

Balotelli has had a decent run at Inter but never enjoyed a close relationship with the club’s staff and fans. He played 73 games for the Nerazurri, netting 22 goals and managing 12 assists which as I said, is pretty decent for a striker of his age. He has 16 caps for Italy Under-21s, netting six times, and was called up to the senior Azzurri side for the first time this week.

It is believed that Inter have agreed upon a deal worth €28 million (approx) as the Inter rebel is set to sign a five-year contract at Manchester City. The report claims that that deal would net the player something in the region of €3.5m a year in wages which is another glimpse of Manchester City’s financial power.

Roberto Mancini is a big admirer of Balotelli, and has never hid his ambition to sign the  next big thing from Italy. The 20-year-old Italy forward is reported (by Sky Sports) to have boarded a plane for England to undergo a Medical at Manchester, as the striker moves another step closer to the reunion with his old boss, Mancini.
