Everton blow-out Gunner’s £14m bid for Jag – Arsenal have had a £14million bid for Everton’s Phil Jagielka turned down. However, Arsenal are set to test Everton’s resolve by tabling a revised bid of £16m.

Campbell set for Toon move – Newcastle are reported to be leading the race for experienced defender Sol Campbell, who celebrated his wedding in the North East on Saturday.

Fergie wants Lahm – Sir Alex Ferguson is said to be keen on Germany international defender Philipp Lahm and is ready to offer Dimitar Berbatov to Bayern Munich as part of the deal. This could also mean that Fergie might accept an offer from Real Madrid for Patrice Evra.

Bremen ready for Ozil bid – Werder Bremen general manager Klaus Allofs accepts that Mesut Ozil is likely to be hot property this summer. Manchester United are looking like the favourites to sign the German, with Real Madrid also showing keen interest

Liverpool seal the deal with Joe – Many British newspapers have been reporting that former Chelsea player Joe Cole may be heading to Merseyside to play for Liverpool, and Roy Hudgson may use him in keeping Fernando Torres at the club by showing that the club are interested in spending some cash. Cole was released by Chelsea last month

Liverpool agree to Insua sale – Liverpool left back Emiliano Insua is poised to join Fiorentina in a £5million deal. An Anfield spokesman said: “We have agreed a fee for the sale of Emiliano to Fiorentina and given them permission to speak with the player.”

Henry wants Fab stay – Therry Henry, who has just signed for MLS side New York Red-Bulls, has said that he wishes that Cesc Fabregas does not follow the same path as he did by joining Barcelona from Arsenal.

Benitez plans Merseyside raid – New boss Rafa Benitez has been linked with summer moves for his former club, Liverpool’s duo Javier Mascherano and Dirk Kuyt and Everton midfielder Steven Pienaar.Diego Milito, the Inter Milan striker, has come out and said that he is confident that his Argentine team-mate, Mascherano, would come to the San Siro.

Cole to stay at the Bridge – Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti has said that he is 100% sure that fullback Ashley Cole would stay at the Stamford Bridge, despite reported interest from Real Madrid manager, Jose Mourinho.

Evra second choice for Jose – With Chelsea looking set to ignore any bids from Real for Ashley Cole, Jose Mourinho has set his eyes on French captain Patrice Evra as his second choice.

Fulham ready to bid for Zlatan – New Fulham boss, Martin Jol is set to launch a bid for Barca striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Having denie offers from Chelsea and Man City, would Zlatan be willing to go to the Cottage. A writer in a British newspaper says that it may turn out well because Martin Jol and Ibrahimovic share the same agent.

Stoke want duo – Stoke City are ready to launch offers for Carlton Cole of West Ham, around £14m, and for David Bentley of Tottenham, for £8m

James in loan talks with Sunderland – England keeper David James is wanted by Sunderland as a replacement for crocked Craig Gordon. Black Cats boss Steve Bruce would like the Portsmouth star, who is 40 on August 1, on loan.
