T90 Tracer and adidas Finale 11 – The new balls for 2010-11 season

As the world cup ends, everybody’s attention turns back towards the League season. With the performance of the match balls a hot topic, we thought we’d unveil the new balls to be used throughout the 2010-11 season.

T90 Tracer for La Liga, Premier League, Serie A

Nike have revealed the new match ball for the 2010/2011 season which will be used across the top leagues in Europe like English Premier League, Spanish La Liga and the Italian Serie A. These balls will be used from 1st July, 2010 to 30th June, 2011 and it will be available for purchase as soon as it becomes available. Nike says, the geometric precision of this ball allows for even distribution of pressure – an accurate and powerful strike, no matter where the ball is hit. Enhanced performance graphics are designed to engage the players’ vision quickly. Compressed polyethylene-layer stores energy from impact and releases it at polyester support fabric which in turn enhances stability.

But this isn’t that big an issue. We all trust Nike’s footballs after their performances in the 3 big leagues for many years. The real talking point is the performance of adidas balls. Their new ball for Champions League season 10/11 is Finale 11.

Adidas Finale 11

The adidas Finale 11 Football uses a PSC texture for better power, swerve and control. This surface structure allows players to control and direct the ball better in all weather conditions, along with providing optimum grip between the ball and boot. The Finale 11 is constructed from 14 panels using “revolutionary Thermal Bonding Technology” which removes the need for seams and stitching – great for prolonging the life of your football.

Mitre Tensile for Scottish Premier League

Mitre Tensile

The Mitre Tensile match ball is the first of its kind and will be used in all Football League and Scottish Premier League (SPL) matches from the beginning of the 2010/11 season. This is the new 10 panel Mitre Tensile football, made with an aerodynamic outer to ensure high performance use in all conditions and has over 30% less stitching. Hand stitched, the Tensile Mitre football ball comes designed from a Clarino micro fibre material, featuring cincap lining for outstanding balance, grip and control in the most demanding conditions.

Jabulani for MLS

And even after all the cotroversy regarding the Jabulani ball, Major League Soccer have decided to use it for their 10/11 season. Poor little David Beckham, try scoring a goal from half-line with this ball David !!!
