Legendary Striker Ronaldo Tells Felipe Melo – Don’t Come Back To Brazil

Former Brazil striker Ronaldo has told Felipe Melo not to return home for his summer holidays following his part in the Selecao’s World Cup exit. Ronaldo warned Melo not to bother heading back to Sao Paulo with the Brazil squad when they return home later fearing a backlash from fans. Ronaldo went on to say that Melo was a total flop in their World Cup Campaign.

Melo had been heavily criticized about series of poor performances for both, the National team and his club, Juventus. Melo clearly stomped his boot on Robben’s shin which consequently earned him a Red card and the incident certainly contributed to the defeat of Selecao. To me, Brazil already lost the game once they were down to 10 men but sadly the Oranje did not make the most of it as they missed two or three clear chances to go ahead and kill off the game.

It is widely expected that Melo is on his way out from Juventus as well. I personally feel that he should be dropped from the national side as he holds nothing special to be in the such highly rated Brazilian side(not even a place on their bench). When you talk about Brazil, you think of them as the best Football Team in the world and his performances were nowhere near the Brazilian level. It won’t be wrong if I give 50% blame to Melo for Brazil’s World Cup exit as much was expected from the usual favourites, Brazil in this World Cup who failed to win for 2 times in a row, which is indeed sad. The underperforming players without usual Brazilian Killer Instincts, also lead to the resignation of the great Dunga, who I believe was the best Manager(Coach) in this World Cup.

I feel sorry for such a great team. It will be hard to forget this defeat but I seriously hope they will figure out and analyse their mistakes and where it went wrong for them. They have shown in the past that they learn from their defeats, they do their homework and comeback strong. Let’s see what future holds for them. Good Luck Brasil!
