Arsenal or Barcelona – The Verge

We’ve been hearing about the speculations linking the Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas to his boyhood club Barcelona but now the clouds surrounding him to a possible move to Barcelona can be seen fading away. As a matter of fact the story has two faces “Joy for the Arsenal Fans” and “Disappointment for the Barcelona Lovers”, in this regard a man who faced almost the same situation few years ago has spoken out for his Former Team-Mate.

The Arsenal Legend, Thierry Henry has iterated that he wouldn’t like to be in Cesc’s place to choose between his(Fabregas’) love(Arsenal) and his dream(Barcelona). The Frenchman told Radio Five’s Sportsweek :

It is hard because the Fabregas is from Barcelona, I wouldn’t like to be in his shoes that’s all I can say. I wouldn’t like to be in his position because he is from there [Barcelona], but he also loves Arsenal.

The Spanish side has already put a £30 million offer for their home grown player but Arsenal insist they’d have to wait as per the club agreement with the player. Barcelona have been continuously urging the player to return to his home club but according to the Arsenal Manager Arsene Wenger, Barcelona should stop discussing Cesc affairs for now.

Henry further commented:

I don’t know what to say about this, because I don’t want to talk for him.

Although having been through the same situation overall, he decided to join the Spanish side. But the Frenchman has never tried to hide his affection for Arsenal, retiring from international duty with France the Frenchman iterated:

As an Arsenal fan, for me, I want him to stay at Arsenal. However, I would also understand if he goes back home. What I want to do is, when I retire from playing, I don’t know how, but I want to come back to Arsenal.
