It is reported that France had an in-camp confrontation when Raymond Domenech was involved in a heated discussion with captain Patrice Evra and fitness coach Robert Duverne.
The France squad has been against Domenech’s decision to waste Thierry Henry on subs bench but the things caught more heat when the manager sent Nicolas Anelka home after he made derogatory comments following the 2 – 0 loss to Mexico. However, the Chelsea striker could stay had he issued an apology, but he refused to do so.
According to Domenech
I had another chat with him (Anelka). The next day (Friday) and I left open the possibility for him to apologize, something he did not want to do.The decision to exclude him was then the right one.
The very next day Anelka was said to leave for home which left the squad to acquire opposition against their manager.
However, things were a bit settled until the heat was added to the blazing inferno by when French fitness coach Robert Duverne burst onto Evra. Seeing this the French team refused to carry on the training and left the ground. Arguments between the two can be seen here.
The team only managed to earn 1 point out of their 2 Fixtures and their survival has laid into jeopardy now as the squad is unwilling to work under the current manager. France are to play their next match against South Africa but they are seemingly out of this tournament.
