Saving himself for the World Cup

Ex – Arsenal captain Thierry Henry has not been showing what he was brought for in the Nou Camp. Last season he managed to score 25 goals for the Catalans in all competitions and was the major part in Barcelona’s treble-winning campaign last season, but this season he has just scored 3 goals so far which worries the fans.

14 number kit has not be seen in action this season due to injuries and low performances, when asked about why he has not been used as much this season he replied that he was ‘saving himself for the World Cup’ which angered the fans and the Catalan media, but the Catalan Manager denied stating that the former Arsenal striker was misquoted, commenting: “I listened to the question and the answer in French, and it’s not what he said.

According to Guardiola he still believe that the legend will rise again but he needs to get a little ambitious, “I need him to have the same ambition that made him the best over many years”, said Pep Guardiola.

“He knows he has to improve, although I believe he is better than he himself thinks. I am sure he’ll give us the best of himself over the next two months.”

“He knows that he’s not on his best form and that’s why he says it’s logical that other players play,” he said.

“He’s paying the price of having been the best and won everything. He is not happy with the situation and I am here to help him.”

Thierry Henry who is still the legend in many people’s heart needs to fill in his boots; and as the gap closes between Real Madrid and Barcelona this season, he needs to get his ambition back and rise to the occasion, which certainly he’s capable of.
