It’s ‘bout respect!

Carlos Tevez the Argentinean international labeled his former Manchester United team-mate an “idiot” as the heat between the two players increased in Manchester Derby.

Tevez admitted that the goal celebration was merely directed towards Garry Neville. The striker scored the equalizer as the two team met in the Carling Cup on Tuesday, and made a gesture towards his ex team-mate to keep his mouth shut by cupping his hands behind his ears in response to the statement Neville made that the striker was not worth the money City spent on him and the defender hit back with a rude gesture.

The 25 year old who moved to Manchester City last summer for £25.5 million has admitted that he should have contained himself in the celebration, but instead made a gesture towards Gary Neville to keep his mouth shut.

He told Argentinean Radio “Just as I was running off to celebrate the penalty I had scored, I came across Gary and I said to myself: ‘Shut your trap, keep quiet. I didn’t go overboard in my celebration and it was directed at Gary, not at Ferguson and not at the fans.”

“In all the press here, Gary Neville came out and stood by Ferguson’s comments, saying that I wasn’t worth 25million.”

“I thought he was in the wrong because we were team-mates and I never disrespected him, I always respected him.

“I feel he was a boot-licker when he stood by Ferguson’s comments that I wasn’t worth that money.”

“From a former team-mate it hurts, from a coach it doesn’t surprise me.”

“I would never do that gesture towards the fans, I would never show a lack of respect towards people. It was directed at Gary Neville.”

The fire has finally reached the officials, as the exchange of words is carried out through different media outlets. But both players are left with a warning, although no actions will be taken against them for now, but the continuation of bickering will lead to severe action as both team meet again on Wednesday.
