Defensive blow for the Title Rivals…

As the biggest clash is going to take place, Arsenal and Manchester United will be without the services of their regular defensive line.

The moment for which fans have been waiting for has finally arrived but the two teams will have to make without their regular defenders. It’s been reported Thomas Vermaelen who has started all 23 games for Arsenal this season has been ruled out for Sunday through an injury, whereas Manchester United Captain has been issued a Four-Match Ban by FA for violent conduct.

Thomas Vermaelen was substituted during the first half of Aston Villa game. Despite of the fears that he might have a broken leg, he just have a minor leg injury which will keep him away from Sunday. Johan Djourou who was to fill his boots, will not be appearing this season. As a matter of fact Wenger is left with no other choice than to name Sol Campbell on Varmaelen’s place, however Emmanuel Eboue and Alex Song are available for Sunday too.

On the other hand Manchester United Captain Rio Ferdinand is unavailable for four straight matches and Garry Neville is sidelined with calf injury. Ferdinand swung an arm which hit Tigers striker Craig Fagan on the head, and had initially been suspended for three fixtures. The Football Association has extended his ban by one additional game after a ‘frivolous appeal’ following an incident against Hull City last Saturday. Therefore Wes Brown is short listed for Sunday and may find his name on the bench.

This certainly tells how two teams will be meeting at the Emirates with their a-bit shaky defense, but the one making its wall unbreakable will be earning good 3 points.
